Modern driver heads use interchangeable shaft adapters instead of bonded hosels. This allows you to swap shafts easily, adjust loft and lie angles, and fine-tune your launch conditions. Without the correct adapter, you cannot install an aftermarket shaft into your TaylorMade driver.

Each adapter features 12 adjustable settings, allowing you to change loft by +/- 2 degrees and adjust lie angle. The standard setting (neutral) provides the manufacturer’s stated loft. Each click changes loft by 0.75 degrees.

Installation Instructions

Proper adapter installation requires:

1. Prepare shaft tip (clean with acetone, light sanding)
2. Apply high-strength epoxy to inside of adapter and shaft tip
3. Insert shaft into adapter fully (adapter acts as its own ferrule)
4. Rotate shaft to ensure even epoxy coverage
5. Wipe away excess epoxy
6. Allow 24 hours for full cure
7. Torque screw to 40 inch-pounds (4 N-m) when installing in driver head
